How eTap empowers and embodies Filipino values

August is officially Buwan ng Wika: a monthlong celebration shining a light on the Filipino language, culture, traditions, and most importantly, values.
Yet values aren’t just celebrated, they’re lived. At eTap Solutions, traditional Filipino values such as bayanihan, malasakit, and sipag at tiyaga are built into how the company operates.
From the ground up, eTap’s self-service kiosks aren’t just machines—they’re tools for financial inclusion and empowerment deeply rooted in Filipino ideals.
Here’s how.
Bayanihan through the marketplace
eTap kiosks being placed in hard-discount grocers, pharmacies, and neighborhood bakeshops is no accident. It’s a deliberate decision to bring digital financial services to where people go to get their essential goods at reasonable prices.
As with the concept of bayanihan, which refers to the communal spirit of working together towards a goal, eTap Solutions works with value-driven store partners to ease the financial burdens of Filipinos. After all, every peso counts, and when someone can save on their financial transactions, groceries, medicine, and meals, the end result makes a whole world of difference.
Malasakit for the underserved
Despite the rise in digital transactions, millions of Filipinos still remain unbanked. This demographic can sometimes go unnoticed as more attention is given to digital-first consumers and fintech-savvy users.
eTap meets these communities halfway, making bills payment, e-wallet top-ups, and digital services accessible without requiring smartphones, apps, or even internet access. This is malasakit, or sense of care, in action: responding to real needs with practical solutions.
Celebrating sipag at tiyaga
Every store partner we onboard is a story of grit. Store partners are based on a number of factors, including foot traffic, location, scalability, and of course, what they could potentially offer eTap users. This includes effort and initiative from all of the company’s employees, whether they work in Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Partner Success, and so on.
Because they are the first touchpoint between eTap kiosks and its users, store partners are never left on their own. First, kiosks are installed in stores with the comprehensive guidance of the eTap team. This includes walking a store’s employees through the capabilities of each machine, while also letting them know who to contact in case of technical issues.
Second, eTap helps promote the unique offerings of each store partner through co-marketing deals. This kills two birds with one stone: consumers know where eTap’s kiosks are near them while finding out what these different stores have to offer.
Finally, post-sale support is crucial to the company’s operations. Store partners have a direct line to eTap in case of any technical issues, while a technician assigned to an area office always makes scheduled visits to store partners.
It’s great to be reminded of the importance of staying rooted in honest values this Buwan ng Wika. At eTap Solutions powered by eTap Inc., we’re proud to stand at the intersection of tradition and innovation, helping create a future where every Filipino can transact, earn, and thrive with dignity.
