How eTap Solutions enables diversity and inclusion in the workplace

At eTap Solutions, diversity is the name of the game, especially when it comes to our user base. There’s a diverse range of people who use eTap machines to top-up, pay bills, and much more, anyone from delivery riders remitting a day’s worth of earnings to a hard-working mom sending money to her kids in another city.

Because our user base is so diverse, it only makes sense that our workplace is diverse as well. 

At eTap Solutions, our team includes individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, backgrounds, and beliefs. Every single member of the team brings their unique experiences and perspectives to work, making us more creative and agile in our thinking.

Here’s how eTap Solutions enables diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

We Don’t Hire for a Checkbox. We Hire for Belonging.

While credentials are important, just as important is the overall attitude of a candidate. Every eTap employee must be willing to collaborate, listen, and consider other perspectives—after all, empathy is at the core of enabling crucial financial transactions that will serve Filipinos. 

When recruiting, candidates are not only encouraged to share about themselves, but are also asked about their approach to interpersonal communication. For example, a typical question that’s asked is how candidates would handle a potential conflict with a teammate. A good answer would be for a candidate to point out specifically, in a polite manner, what the issue is before suggesting a productive resolution themselves.

Finally, we invite candidates to share anything about their personal lives that they’re comfortable sharing. This gauges how the company can best relate to a candidate once they’re onboarded, and even offer the proper support. 

A Culture That Listens

It’s not just about who’s on the team — it’s about how we treat each other.

At eTap Solutions, we strive to create a space where every voice matters. Our leaders listen, our teams collaborate across differences, and our office conversations are filled with laughter, respect, and shared purpose.

Team members are also encouraged to be themselves. For Pride Month, LGBTQIA+ members of the team were encouraged to share their stories via the company’s monthly newsletter. Additionally, eTap Solutions’ social media pages emphasized how much the company celebrates Pride Month, sharing content that highlights LGBTQ+ voices and showcases the diverse identities within its team and community. 

At eTap Solutions, we understand that creating a truly inclusive workplace isn’t a one-time initiative; it’s a continuous effort. From the language we use in the workplace, to celebrating Pride and other cultural moments authentically, to just being mindful of each other’s lived experiences, we believe the little things add up.
